€790,500 in funding to provide training programmes for people with a disability across Fingal
Fine Gael TD for Dublin Fingal, Alan Farrell has welcomed confirmation that €230,500 is being allocated to the Fingal Leader Partnership, and €560,000 is being granted to EmPower, formerly the Blanchardstown Area Partnership under the Ability Programme, which provides training programmes for people with a disability between the ages of 15 and 29.
“I am delighted with confirmation that €230,500 is being allocated to the Fingal Leader Programme, while EmPower will receive €560,000 under the Ability Programme.
“This funding will provide for training programmes for people with a disability in our local communities which will support them in acquiring new skills, and enhancing their empower them to enter the workforce.
“Communities across the North County greatly benefit from the work undertaken by the Fingal Leader Partnership, and many people throughout Dublin Fingal have received important supports from the Blanchardstown Area Partnership, which is now called EmPower.
Fingal Leader Partnership does great work in the North County, and much of the work undertaken by the Blanchardstown Area Partnership also benefits communities here in the constituency of Dublin Fingal.
“Providing support, funding and resources for the delivery of training programmes for people with a disability is of the utmost importance in terms of enabling and empowering every individual to have an active role in our community.
“I am pleased with confirmation of this funding from the Minister with responsibility for Disabilities Issues, Finian McGrath TD and the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection, Regine Doherty TD. As the local Fine Gael TD in Dublin Fingal, I will continue to actively engage with Minister Doherty, Minister McGrath, and their Departments to ensure the needs of every person with a disability in the North County are heard, understood, and acted upon by Government.”
