Local communities in Dublin Fingal benefit from Community Enhancement Programme

Local communities in Dublin Fingal benefit from Community Enhancement Programme – Farrell

Over €210,800 was provided to communities in rural and urban areas in the North County through the Community Enhancement Programme, supporting 71 projects, Fine Gael TD for Dublin Fingal, Alan Farrell has said.

Deputy Farrell said: “This Community Enhancement Programme provided funding to communities across the North County to enhance facilities in our local communities. It was great to see the wide variety of local projects supported under this Programme in 2018.

“This programme helps support important work by communities across Dublin Fingal by allocating funding worth €210,816 to 71 local projects.

“In 2018, funding under the Community Enhancement Programme was provided to local projects in communities throughout the North County including Balbriggan, Ballyboughal, Balrothery, Balscadden, Donabate, Holywell, Lusk, Malahide, Naul, Portmarnock Portrane, Rush, Skerries, and Swords.

“The main aim of this funding is to provide for the enhancement of community facilities within both rural and urban communities. This includes investment in sports and recreational groups, childcare supports, playgrounds, landscaping and supports for the elderly.

“Furthermore, funding under the Community Enhancement Programme has also been used to provide for improvements to common areas within communities, the renovation of community centres, energy efficiency upgrades, and the provision of IT and sports equipment along with CCTV and defibrillators.

“As the local Fine Gael TD in Dublin Fingal, I will continue to actively engage with Minister Ring, his Department, and the Government to ensure the needs and concerns of each community throughout the North County are heard, understood, and acted upon.”
