95 empty houses to be renovated in Fingal – FARRELL

Fine Gael Dublin Fingal TD, Alan Farrell has welcomed the Government’s announcement of a €15 million national investment in social housing. This measure will make 95 vacant houses available for use in Fingal.
“There is a housing shortage across the country. Families in Fingal are in need of homes. This significant investment will make a huge difference to people in the area.
“Empty houses regularly attract anti-social behaviour; they are unsightly and negatively impact local areas. We want to bring new life into these properties and to turn them into homes once again.
“This investment of €1,259,000 locally will not only benefit the individual families who are allocated a new property but it will enhance the community. It is good news for builders and good news for small businesses.
“This €15 million national investment is just one of a number of measures being introduced by the Government to deal with public housing issues. €68 million will be invested nationally to build 449 new homes for families and €30 million will be spent in 2014 to upgrade the energy efficiency of the least well insulated local authority homes.”
