9th Annual GOAL mile was a great success

Fine Gael TD for Dublin Fingal, Alan Farrell has said he is delighted with the success of the 9th Annual Goal mile charitable walk at Malahide Castle.

“I would like to thank everybody, from the serious runners, to families and those out for a morning stroll, who came out to support the GOAL mile in Malahide on Christmas Day. I would also like to thank the volunteers from the local community and the staff in GOAL, including Barry Andrews, CEO, who were integral in helping with the organisation of the event.

“A total of €1,794 was raised by this event, bringing the amount raised in Malahide since 2007 to €33,000. I was encouraged by the fact that so many people came out to support this very worthy charity and the valuable work it does in such bad weather conditions. I would like to thank all contributors for their generosity.

“The GOAL mile will no doubt be ‘run’ once again on Christmas Day this year and, if you have never taken part in the event, I would encourage you to mark it in your diary as it is a thoroughly enjoyable event in aid of a great cause.”
