Dublin Fingal, Fine Gael TD, Alan Farrell has welcomed the news that the Broadmeadow estuary cycle way has been granted permission by An Bord Pleanala.
Deputy Farrell said, “This is great news for everyone in Fingal and will see a major step forward in the development of our coastal greenway.”
“The Broadmeadow estuary crossing will link Malahide with Donabate and eventually link into Rush, Skerries and Balbriggan, forming a cycle and walk-way through Fingal’s coast.”
Deputy Farrell continued, “This is a major boost for our community and will ensure that we can all enjoy the beautiful scenery we have in Fingal, from a new perspective.”
“Increasing our local amenities is vital to promoting Fingal both domestically and internationally, creating greenways such as this will help us showcase what we have to offer. I have worked with local groups and they local authority to help deliver this project and I am pleased that we can now advance to the next stage.”
Deputy Farrell added, “Our focus should now turn to ensuring a timely delivery of this project without unnecessary delays.”
“I look forward to seeing the completion of the greenway and I know that many locals throughout Fingal share my sentiments that this will be a huge benefit to Fingal residents for generations to come.”
