Dublin Fingal, Fine Gael TD, Alan Farrell has urged community groups and voluntary organisations to apply for the National Lottery Discretionary Fund in place in the Department of Children and Youth Affairs (DCYA). The fund provides once-off grants for community groups and voluntary organisations who are involved in Children and Youth services. This year, the scheme is focused upon small scale projects and, on that basis; grants will be awarded for amounts up to, but not exceeding, €20,000.
“National Lottery funding can be of great benefit for community groups and voluntary organisations. Grants are usually awarded to one-off projects which are involved in the areas of culture, play and recreation; youth led initiatives; healthy lifestyles for children and young people and providing marginalised groups with access to extra-curricular, activity based projects.”
“Applications must be received in the Department of Children and Youth Affairs no later than 12:30pm on Friday, June 6th 2014. The application form and information booklet are available on my website www.alanfarrell.ie or by contacting my office.”
“I would urge all community and voluntary groups, involved in the area of children and youth affairs, to consider applying for this funding as it could provide them with the support to facilitate the valuable work which they undertake.”
