Fine Gael TD for Dublin Fingal has welcomed the announcement that €157,000 will be provided for repairs and maintenance of harbours in Dublin Fingal, as part of an overall, national, €3.1 million package announced today.
Deputy Farrell said, “This is great news for our community these funds will go toward making our harbours safer for workers, visitors and recreational users.”
“The funds will benefit, Rush harbour, Loughshinny harbour and Balbriggan harbour and will see important improvements to the facilities.”
Details of the Dublin Fingal projects being supported:
- €67,500 for re-strengthening the sea wall at Loughshinny harbour.
- €15,000 for the installation of new ladders and guardrails along the south pier at Loughshinny harbour.
- €67,500 for the provision of water and electricity supply points on the northern side of the Balbriggan harbour.
- €7,500 will be provided to relay and re-secure the stones in the slipway on the north section of Rush harbour.
Deputy Farrell added, “These projects will see an improvement of standards that are much needed for all involved. Protecting and preserving our harbours is an important aspect to maintaining the history of our communities.”
