€160,620 in LEADER funding for Keogh’s Crisps, Oldtown & Taylor’s Irish Chillies, Lusk

Fine Gael TD for Dublin Fingal, Alan Farrell has welcomed the allocation of €160,620 in LEADER funding for two projects in the North County.

“I am delighted with confirmation from my Fine Gael colleague, the Minister for Rural and Community Development, Michael Ring TD that two projects in Dublin Fingal will receive a combined total of €160,620 in LEADER funding.

“Through this funding, Keogh’s Crips in Oldtown will receive investment of €103,750 which will go towards the development of the organisation’s distribution, seasoning and bagging line operations, allowing for an increasing in production capacity.

“€56,870 of this LEADER funding has been allocated to Taylor’s Irish Chillies in Lusk. This funding will support a project by Taylor’s Irish Chillies to upgrade the company’s packhouse, machinery and marketing strategy, supporting the business’ growth.

“LEADER funding provides vital supports for local businesses and organisations, allowing them to remain competitive in an ever-changing market, and grow into the future.

“The investment in both of these organisations also works to support local jobs in Oldtown, Lusk and the surrounding communities. Our local businesses are important employers in our communities. As such, ensuring they have the ability to grow will also generate greater levels of job creation throughout the North County.

“I am pleased that both Keogh’s Crisps and Taylor’s Irish Chillies have been approved for LEADER funding.

“As the local Fine Gael TD, I will work with Minister Ring, and his Department to ensure our local communities in Dublin Fingal receive the investment and support they both require and deserve.”
