Fine Gael TD for Dublin Fingal, Alan Farrell has welcomed the allocation of €200,000 in funding to complete projects in 3 communities in the North County under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme.
“I am delighted with the announcement of €200,000 in funding for local projects in 3 villages in Dublin Fingal by my Fine Gael colleague, the Minister for Community and Rural Affairs, Michael Ring TD.
“The Town and Village Renewal Scheme forms part of the Government’s Action Plan for Rural Development and the funding provided aims to work towards revitalising local communities in the North County and across the country.
“Funding awarded to each project is used for various local projects which include improving playgrounds and footpaths, tourism amenities, public art pieces and a wide range of works to improve the streetscape of towns and villages, to help make them more attractive and more sustainable places in which to live and work.
“The projects which have been allocated funding have been identified by local community groups and businesses, in conjunction with the local authority.
“The projects in Dublin Fingal which are to receive funding under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme are:
Town Projects to receive funding Amount
Balrothery Themed children’s playground €100,000
Naul Sculpture and culture park €76,000
Portmarnock Village enhancements €24,000
“This funding for our local towns and villages is of the utmost importance in terms of rejuvenating and revitalising our local communities through the provision of investment in our local infrastructure and amenities.
“I will continue to work with Minister Ring, and his Department to make sure the concerns of communities in the North County are heard, understood, and acted upon by Government.”
