Fine Gael TD for Dublin Fingal, Alan Farrell has welcomed the allocation of €21,877 in LEADER funding to two organisations in the North County. The 153rd Lusk Scout Group is to receive €4,535 while Donabate Portrane Community Centre CLG has been allocated €17,342.
“I am delighted with confirmation from my Fine Gael colleague, the Minister for Rural and Community Development, Michael Ring TD that both the 153rd Lusk Scout Group and Donabate Portrane Community Centre CLG are to receive LEADER funding.
“The 153rd Lusk Scout Group has been granted €4,535 in funding to provide training to scout members in various skills, such as rescue and emergency first aid.
“Donabate Portrane Community Centre CLG has been awarded €17,342 in LEADER funding which will go towards the upgrading of CCTV at the community centre, and its website.
“Both of these organisations play an integral role in the local community, and it is vital that such groups receive support from Government in order to ensure they can continue to make a strong and positive contribution to their locality, particularly as they relate to both younger and older members of our society.
“As the local Fine Gael TD in Dublin Fingal, I will work with Minister Ring, his Department, and indeed all my colleagues in Government to ensure the needs of every community in the North County are heard, understood and acted upon.”
