Fine Gael TD for Dublin Fingal, Alan Farrell, is pleased that €30,000 has been allocated for conservation work to be carried out on Old Kilbush House, Rush.
“I am pleased with the announcement that €30,000 is being allocated for conservation works to be carried out on Old Kilbush House, Rush. This funding, announced by the Minister for the Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Heather Humphreys, focuses on ensuring the survival of some of our most significant architectural, archaeological, cultural and historic buildings.
“Investment under the Structures at Risk Fund 2015 is aimed at facilitating conservation work to be completed on heritage structures which are deemed to be at a significant risk of deterioration. Since 2011, almost 130 structures have received funding under this scheme.
“Protecting heritage properties, such as Old Kilbush House, Rush, is important, both in terms of safeguarding local history and promoting tourism. After all, the character of such heritage properties serves as one the many attractions which encourage tourists to come to the area.
“I am delighted that such investment is being allocated to the Rush area, by the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht. This conservation work will contribute to local employment and preserve the character and charm of Old Kilbush House.”
