Fine Gael TD for Dublin Fingal, Alan Farrell, is pleased with the allocation of €500,000 to Balbriggan Rugby Club for a new clubhouse.
“I am delighted with confirmation that €500,000 has been allocated to Balbriggan Rugby Club which will provide for a new clubhouse. Such investment in our local sports clubs is of the utmost importance in terms of providing the facilities to encourage more people to become physically active, particularly our younger generations. This is essential as we fight against increasing levels of obesity.
“Investing in sporting facilitates in our local community, and getting more people exercising and participating in sport on a more regular basis is fundamental in terms of a public health approach to tackle obesity, and to reduce the strain on our health service from conditions associated with, and exacerbated by, physical inactivity.
“I would like to congratulate everyone involved with Balbriggan Rugby Club on they work they have undertaken to secure this investment.
“As the local Fine Gael TD in Dublin Fingal, I am pleased that we can support our local clubs in this manner, and I will continue to work in Dáil Éireann for further investment in the provision of better facilities and services in our local community.”
