Fine Gael TD for Dublin North, Alan Farrell has been newly appointed to the Joint Committee for Justice, Defence and Equality.
“This is a vital committee that has various significant roles when it comes to protecting the individual and their rights.
“I see this appointment as a unique opportunity to engage with various elements of our justice system; to affect change in legislation with regard to legal reform and to engage with the defence forces including An Garda Síochána to discuss matters of public interest.
“This government is committed to bringing about reform in our justice system and I look forward to engaging with the committee and its representatives over the period of this government to create a superior, fair and accessible justice system.”
