Farrell delighted with arrival of eShopWorld Global HQ for Swords

250 new jobs at Airside with €25m investment in R&D and Innovation

Fine Gael TD for Dublin Fingal, Alan Farrell, has expressed his delight at the announcement of 250 new jobs for Fingal following his attendance at the company launch at Airside, in Swords.

“I am delighted that eShopWorld have chosen the capital of Fingal to further invest in their Global HQ in Swords. This investment is an expression of confidence in our community, our skilled workforce and our economy as a whole.

“`This investment will bring their total employment to over 400 by the end of 2019.

“eShopWorld cited the Action Plan for Jobs as a key enabler for their company to have confidence in our market place and our skilled workforce.

“The company, founded by Tommy Kelly, started with just 6 employees in 2010 and has grown to 150 personnel in the last seven years. These high skilled, technical development and R&D positions will further enhance eShopWorlds ability to cater for over 200 countries in its portfolio. Recruitment for these position has already commenced.

“Our unemployment rate has fallen from a high of 15.2% in 2012 to just 6.1% today and such an announcement is a clear indictment of the policies Fine Gael has delivered in Government since we tool office in 2011.
