Fine Gael TD for Dublin Fingal, Alan Farrell, has welcomed the latest trade figures which have been published by the Central Statistics Office.
“I am encouraged by the latest trade figures published by the CSO, which show that exports from Ireland are continuing to grow at a very strong rate. The seasonally adjusted figures for May and June of this year show that exports have been €1.4 billion greater than the same period last year. In terms of the volume of exports, this is an increase of 10% in comparison with May and June 2013.”
“The strengthening of exports from Ireland will continue to contribute to the Government’s work in returning the Irish economy to full health. With so many export focused businesses in the North County, this will certainly be welcome news for the local Dublin Fingal community.”
“Goods exports in the first 6 months of this year were worth €44 billion which is an increase of 1.5% when compared with the same period last year. Exporting companies are substantially contributing to the improving performance of the Irish economy in line with the Action Plan for Jobs’ emphasis on developing our overseas markets and encouraging Irish companies to realise their potential in terms of exports.”
“With the presence of numerous exporting companies, and the export potential of many other companies in Dublin Fingal, this significant growth in export levels will provide much support to businesses throughout the constituency. The Government’s focus on driving export growth, in conjunction with promoting opportunities for indigenous enterprises, will allow for greater levels of job creation as we continue on the road to recovery.”
