Fine Gael TD for Dublin Fingal, Alan Farrell has welcomed the announcement of funding for the Flavours of Fingal Show, and the Skerries (Irish Association of Welsh Pony and Cob Society) Show by the Minister for Rural and Community Development, Michael Ring TD.
“I am pleased with the announcement by my Fine Gael colleague, Minister Michael Ring, that the Flavours of Fingal Show, and the Skerries (Irish Association of Welsh Pony and Cob Society) Show will receive up to €7,000 in funding from the Government.
“This finding is being allocated to agricultural shows nationwide in order to boost rural communities, and highlight the importance of our rural economy.
“These two shows contribute greatly to our local economy in the North County, and provide an important promotional basis for small Fingal businesses to showcase their produce.
“This funding is important in terms of supporting agricultural shows, many of which have faced challenges as a result of adverse weather and increased costs in recent years. However, shows such as Flavours of Fingal, and the Skerries (Irish Association of Welsh Pony and Cob Society) Show are vital as they allow for a celebration of our local heritage in the North County.
“I am delighted that both of these local shows have been approved for this funding to support them in 2018, which will again allow us the opportunity to showcase the culture and heritage of our rural communities here in the North County.”
