Funding allocated to Holywell ETNS and Bracken ETNS for ASD classrooms

Fine Gael TD for Dublin Fingal, Alan Farrell, is delighted that funding has been allocated to Holywell Educate Together National School, Swords, and Bracken Educate Together National School, Castlelands, Balbriggan, for the development of an ASD unit classroom in both schools.

“I am pleased that both Holywell Educate Together National School and Bracken Educate Together National School have been allocated funding from the Department of Education and Skills for an ASD unit classroom in each school. I am also glad that St. Teresa’s Primary School in Balbriggan is being provided with investment, under the Emergency Works programme, for structural repairs.

“Providing our schools with facilities such as ASD classrooms is of the utmost importance in terms of supporting children with autism during their time in education. We must work to ensure that our children receive the greatest benefit possible from the education system, and in order to achieve this, it is essential that we provide our schools with the necessary resources to support all students. Furthermore, we must ensure that all children who require extra assistance and supports have access to them during their time in education. This must be a priority as investment in our education system continues.

“With the youngest population in the State, Dublin Fingal is home to a large number of families with children in full-time education. The provision of educational supports to schools throughout the constituency is vital in order to ensure our children receive a high-quality education in an environment which is conducive to their learning. I will continue to support all schools in the constituency in relation to their future development and upkeep.”
