Fine Gael TD for Dublin Fingal, Alan Farrell, has welcomed the news that €11,250 is to be allocated to Loughshinny Harbour. The money will be used for the ongoing development of the harbour, specifically replacing the existing steps on the outer harbour with ladder access and making it safer.
“This is really good news for the community. This funding will assist in ensuring the long term sustainability of Loughshinny Harbour. This funding announcement comes on top of a grant in February for the repair of piers and harbours that were badly damaged during the storms last winter.
“The funding comes from the 2014 Fishery Harbour and Coastal Infrastructure Capital Programme of the Department of Agriculture and the Marine. Local Authorities will also contribute to the cost of the project.
“I am committed to supporting coastal communities in Dublin Fingal who have major concerns regarding the safety and protection of their harbours.”
