Funding boost of €25 million for Balbriggan under the Urban Regeneration & Development Fund

Dublin Fingal TD, Alan Farrell, has welcomed news that Balbriggan will receive significant funding under the URDF.

Deputy Farrell said, “The Urban Regeneration and Development Fund is an important method of reaching the goals set out in Project Ireland 2040. And I am pleased that Balbriggan will specifically benefit from over €25m in this funding round.”

“These funds will be provided with a focus on employment, as well as renewal projects with regard to the town and harbour.”

“This process will also include a wide process of stakeholder engagement, ensuring that those in the community get the chance to contribute to changes and projects in the area.”

Deputy Farrell continued, “This round of funding builds on the monies received in early rounds and will help build infrastructure and amenities in Balbriggan, that have been needed for many years.”

“In total this round of funding will see €1.3bn assigned to projects across Ireland, building on the previous round which saw €600m.”

Deputy Farrell added, “This is good news for all those who live in Balbriggan, one of the fastest growing towns in our region, we need to put in place the necessary supports and infrastructure needed for a society to thrive and I believe this funding will help in that endeavour.
