Funding boost of over €6M for healthcare across Fingal

Dublin Fingal TD and Fine Gael Spokesperson for Climate Action, Alan Farrell, has said that boost in funding will improve the standard of care for residents in Fingal.

Deputy Farrell said, “The funding due to be announced shortly will see improvements made to primary care centres in Lusk and Skerries, as well as, St. Ita’s in Portrane and the National Forensic Mental Health Services Hospital.”

“This will benefit people of all ages and with a diverse range of needs and continue to build up community healthcare in Dublin Fingal. This is something that I have been committed to since entering politics and will continue to work towards the development and enhancement of services in Fingal, including in Swords and Balbriggan.”

Deputy Farrell continued, “The details of these projects are as follows:

  • €100,000 for refurbishment, reconfiguration & extension of Lusk Primary Care Centre on existing PCC site.
  • €150,000 for refurbishment, reconfiguration & extension of Skerries Primary Care Centre on existing PCC site.
  • €2,210,000 for upgrade & refurbishment of 123 Block in St. Ita’s Portrane; Final Phase – Kitchen.
  • €3,600,000 for the National Forensic Mental Health Services Hospital.”

Deputy Farrell concluded, “Improving our local healthcare services is a vital endeavour and we must work to ensure that Primary Care Centres in particular, offer the range of services necessary for our growing population.”
