Farrell wishes the Irish Cricket Team success ahead of England clash at ‘Fortress Malahide’

Fine Gael TD for Dublin North, Alan Farrell, has today (Monday) wished the Irish Cricket Team success ahead of tomorrow’s clash against England at Malahide Cricket Club in the RSA One Day international.

Speaking ahead the match, Deputy Farrell said:

‘As a proud member of Malahide Cricket Club, I know that preparations have been under way for many years for what will be one of biggest international sporting events in the country. I am hoping to see a repeat of Ireland’s historic victory over England at the 2011 World Cup’.

“Tickets are still available and I hope that Irish sport fans will take the opportunity to jump on the DART to Malahide to witness their national team as they play to recreate our superb victory over England in 2011.

“I am delighted to see this event taking place in my local club. The Malahide venue represents a new chapter of cricket in Ireland, following significant investment from the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport.

“I wish the team every success tomorrow and I look forward to seeing two world class teams compete in Ireland’s new home of cricket.”
