Dublin Fingal TD and Fine Gael Spokesperson on Climate Action, Alan Farrell has urged people to support this year’s Malahide GOAL Mile, which has moved online due to Covid-19.
Deputy Farrell, who has organised the Malahide GOAL Mile for the previous 14 years, said, “This year has led to many events being cancelled, thankfully the Malahide GOAL Mile, will continue this year, albeit in a different format.”
“This year people are being encouraged to participate in the event individually, rather than the traditional group run and walk, which regularly attracts over 200 people in Malahide. Those participating can share their mile online using the hashtags ‘GOALMILE’ and ‘RUNAPARTSTANDTOGETHER’ which will allow people to follow along online.”
Deputy Farrell continued, “Over the last 14 years we have raised over €40,000, this is an incredible achievement and has gone towards helping some of the most vulnerable people in the world and help fight hunger and poverty.”
“I hope that people will continue to support this fundraising effort this year despite the changes, where they can. Registration for the event and donations can be made at www.goalglobal.org.” Deputy Farrell added.
