“I remain supportive of the Metro North Project which I believe is a critical piece of transport infrastructure for the north county and the city of Dublin. As a Councillor for the past seven years, I have worked with our planning department with a view to ensuring that the proposed Metro Economic Corridor which the Council has worked on comes to fruition.
“It is clear from the condition of the public finances that the previous administration have left numerous gaps in the national budgets which the new government will have to plug. These include maintenance of the primary road network and railway network.
“The cabinet will make a decision with regard to this project in the near future as indicated by Minister Varadkar.”
