Na Dubh Gall GAA – More playing pitches on the way?

Na Dubh Gall GAA club in Baldoyle may see an additional allocation of playing pitches in 2009. Following representations from the club in recent weeks I contacted our senior parks superintendent, Mr. Kevin Halpenny who stated that a review of the allocation is currently under way and that he was aware that Na Dubh Gall had a small allocation in the area. In the near future, the Baldoyle area will also see a new park area being ceded to Fingal County Council in which it is hoped further pitches can be created for the community. The club currently have to contend with the use of one constantly waterlogged pitch at Seagrange Park and another in Portmarnock, a far cry from their home in Baldoyle. Having met with the club in recent weeks I am committed to ensuring that not only this club, but all clubs in the Howth/Malahide Ward receive their fair allocation of playing surfaces from Fingal County Council.

We are also investigating the possible use of the disused Council building near seagrange park as a temporary home for the club. While negotiations are at an early stage, we are hopeful of a positive outcome for all concerned.
Is your club getting its fair share?
