Station Road, Portmarnock will welcome a new bridge in the coming months. The current one way system will be removed with a two way carriageway and footpaths between now and the summer. A series of Road closures will follow a planned closer on Valentines night, Saturday the 14th of February.
Developer, Ballymore are conditioned as part of a local planning permission to improve pedestrian and vehicular safety on the road. This will eventually include the complete removal of the existing bridge and its replacement with a two way, pedestrian friendly facility.
As part of the overall planning permission for the site, additional car parking spaces will be provided for the train station as a well as a small neighbourhood centre containing convenience stores for the existing community.
