Over €101,000 provided to 3 projects in Dublin Fingal to support the upkeep of local beaches, the Lambay boat replacement project, and the work of the Irish Seal Sanctuary

Fine Gael TD for Dublin Fingal, Alan Farrell has welcomed the allocation of funding for Clean Coasts Donabate Portrane, The Irish Seal Sanctuary Company and Lambay Estate Company totalling over €101,000.

“I am pleased with confirmation from my Fine Gael colleague, the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Michael Creed TD that Clean Coasts Donabate Portrane is to receive €5,057, the Irish Seal Sanctuary Company is being granted €4,000 and Lambay Estate Company is being provided with €92,000 from grants awarded by Ireland’s 7 Fisheries Local Action Groups.

“Clean Coasts Donabate has been awarded €5,057 towards a project to fund the logistical support for clean ups in Donabate and Portrane beaches, the Irish Seal Sanctuary Company is being provided with €4,000 to support them in delivering biodiversity educational walks for schools while Lambay Estate Company has been granted €92,000 which will go towards the Lambay boat replacement project.

“Supporting these projects is of the utmost importance and will certainly benefit our local communities.

“Ensuring Donabate and Portrane are provided with the supports they require to maintain their local beaches, supporting the Irish Seal Sanctuary in their work, and facilitating the Lambay boat replacement project will boost the tourism potential of the local areas, and of the North County as a whole.

“I am delighted with confirmation of these funding allocations, and as the local Fine Gael TD in Dublin Fingal, I will work with Minister Creed, and his Department to ensure the concerns and needs of our local communities in the North County are heard and understood by Government.”
