Over €3.9 million in Sports Capital Funding Awarded to 48 Sporting Clubs & Organisations in Dublin Fingal

Fine Gael TD for Dublin Fingal, Alan Farrell is delighted that funding of over €3.9 million is being allocated to 48 sports clubs and organisations across the North County.

“I am delighted that over €3.9 million in funding is being allocation to 48 sports clubs and organisations across Dublin Fingal under the Sports Capital Programme.

“Since the application process closed, this Government has almost doubled the amount of funding available for projects under the Sports Capital Programme which has allowed for valid applications in the North County to receive funding to a level which would not otherwise have been possible.

“Funding our sports clubs and organisations is vital to community life and to increasing involvement at local level in sports and physical activity. This is of particular importance as we work to tackle obesity, especially amongst children.

“I wish to extend my congratulations to all of the successful clubs in Dublin Fingal for the hard-work both in our local communities, and in delivering this level of funding for their organisation. I also wish to offer my commiserations to those clubs who were unsuccessful with their applications at this time and I would urge them to consider reapplying for funding under the Sports Capital Programme in the future.

“I look forward to continuing to work with my Fine Gael colleague, the Minister with responsibility for Sport, Brendan Griffin TD, and with local sports clubs and organisations across the North County in order to ensure our local communities receive the level of investment they both require and deserve.
