Fine Gael TD for Dublin Fingal, Alan Farrell, has said the fact that a site for Hedgestown National School has been purchased by St. Laurence O’Toole Diocesan Trust on behalf of the Board of Management is positive news for the wider school community.
“It is positive news for the local community that a site has been secured by St. Laurence O’Toole Diocesan Trust, on behalf of the Board of Management, for the new building for Hedgestown National School.
“The site for the new school building was purchased in October 2017 and now officials from the Department of Education and Skills will work with the school in relation to the timeframe for the progression and completion of this project.
“It is good news that progress is now being made with regard to the delivery of a new building for Hedgestown National School,
“Ensuring our children receive their education in suitable classrooms and state-of-the-art buildings is essential in order to make sure students gain the greatest possible benefit from their time in school.
“With Fingal having the youngest population in the country, it is vital that continued investment is made in providing every community across the North County with the educational infrastructure and resources they require.
“I will continue to work with Minister Bruton, and his Department, to ensure the needs of every school across Dublin Fingal are heard, understood, and acted upon by Government.”
