Seven North County Schools approved for works under Summer Works Programme

Fine Gael TD for Dublin Fingal, Alan Farrell, is delighted with confirmation that seven North County schools have been approved for works under Round 2 of the Summer Works Programme.

“I am delighted with confirmation from the Minister for Education and Skills, Richard Bruton TD, that seven schools in the North County have been approved for works under Round 2 of the Summer Works Programme.

“Four schools in Dublin Fingal have received approval for roof works. These are Scoil Phadraic Cailini, Donabate, St. Marnock’s National School, Portmarnock, Fingal Community College, Swords, and Skerries Community College.

“St. Patrick’s Boys’ National School, Donabate and St. Mary’s National School, Garristown, have been approved for mechanical works, while St. Colmcille’s Boys’ National School, Swords will have works carried out on the school’s toilet facilities.

“With Fingal having the youngest, and fastest growing, population in Ireland, it is of the utmost importance that continued investment is made in our local schools in order to ensure they are maintained to the highest possible standard.

“It is vital that our children receive their education in an environment which supports them in gaining possible benefit from their time in school. Furthermore, teachers, and the entire school community, must have the resources they require made available to them to support them in their work.

“The announcement that these seven schools have been successful in their applications under the Summer Works Programme is great news for each school community. As the local Fine Gael TD, I will continue to work with Minister Bruton, and his Department, to ensure the needs of every school in Dublin Fingal receive the attention they require.”
