Several Fingal projects funded through LEADER programme in August

Dublin Fingal TD and Fine Gael Climate Action Spokesperson, Alan Farrell, has said that LEADER funding approved in August will benefit many in the community.

Deputy Farrell said, “Three projects have been approved in Fingal, under the LEADER programme, announced by Minister Heather Humphreys. This will provide significant funding for these projects and make a real difference to the communities involved.”

“The projects supported in this round of funding are;

  • North Dublin Regional Drug Task Force – Research: An exploratory study of the Nature of Alcohol use in North County Dublin – €18,542.
  • Rush Athletic Football Club – Refurbishment of the clubhouse roof – €42,136.
  • Fingal LEADER Partnership CLG – Swords – Training course to support community volunteers to develop plans to protect and enhance their local waterbodies – €49,999.”

Deputy Farrell continued, “The LEADER programme provides a valuable service that enhances the supports and amenities in rural areas across Fingal. I am pleased to see these projects given a substantial level of support with regard to their total costs, ensuring that we see them come to fruition.”

Deputy Farrell added, “This funding announcement is due to the work of many community groups and volunteers who have contributed to Local Development Strategies.”
