Fingal County Council have issued the following information notice regarding a severe weather warning issued by MET Eireann.
The following steps are being taken in the Fingal area with regard to the Weather Warning this weekend:
We are protecting the following areas with sandbags. These areas have been prone to flooding problems in the past:
  • Slipway on Strand Road, Sutton – 400 sandbags
  • 2 gaps in wall on Strand Road, Sutton – 60 sandbags
  • Slipway on Strand Road, Baldoyle – 400 sandbags
  • 2 gaps in wall at stairs on Strand Road, Baldoyle – 80 sandbags
  • Bloody stream Pub, Howth – 100 sandbags
  • Shennick cottages, Skerries – 500 sandbags
We are also compiling a list of requests for sandbags from the public and will be delivering sand bags over the weekend. Priority will be given to people in areas that are most at risk from flooding.
Other preventative works taking place:
A JCB crew will dig out the outfalls on Sutton Creek.
We have another crew clearing screens and checking the screens they cleaned during the week.
We have increased our stock of sand in anticipation of an emergency situation.
Updates are being posted on our website and on Aertel p624.
