Stream jobs announcement for Swords is a vote of confidence in Fingal – Farrell

Fine Gael TD for Dublin Fingal Alan Farrell has today (Tuesday) welcomed the announcement by the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD, that Stream Global Services in Dublin is to recruit more than 50 permanent positions at its facilities in Swords and Santry. Another 200 seasonal jobs are to be created in the lead up to Christmas.

“I am delighted that Stream has decided to expand its Irish operations with the creation of over 50 full time jobs and 200 seasonal jobs in the run up to Christmas. This is great news for Swords. It’s very gratifying to see companies like Stream putting faith in Fingal by investing in its operations there.

“Stream will host an open house at its Santry location from 11am to 3pm on Saturday 28th September for people to explore career opportunities with the company. The open house will be at Stream Global Services, Woodford Business Park, Santry, Dublin 17. People can also apply online by visiting http://careers.stream.com or contact Dublin.HR@Stream.com for further information.

“This announcement is a clear illustration of the Government’s commitment to creating jobs in Fingal. By investing in job creation, the Government is investing in Ireland’s economic recovery.

“Figures released by the Central Statistics Office last week show our economy is showing marginal growth. More than 34,000 jobs have been created in the last year representing a 1.8 % growth in employment.

“This Government inherited a jobs market in freefall with 250,000 private sector jobs lost between 2008 and 2010. Since this Government came to power, the economy has stabilised and unemployment has decreased.

“The second quarter of 2013 was the fourth quarter in a row that employment has increased. Private sector jobs are now increasing by 3,000 per month since the launch of the Action Plan for Jobs in February 2012.

“While we still have some way to go in getting our economy back on track, this announcement is another move in the right direction. I would like to commend the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation and Stream Global Services for investing in and supporting these jobs.”
