The ‘Be Winter-Ready’ campaign provides essential information for the coming months

Fine Gael TD for Dublin Fingal, Alan Farrell has urged everybody in Dublin Fingal to familiarise themselves with the ‘Be Winter-Ready’ information campaign which was jointly launched by Minister Simon Coveney TD, Minister Paschal Donohoe TD, and Minister of State Paudie Coffey TD.

“The ‘Be Winter-Ready’ campaign is focused on ensuring that households throughout the country are prepared for a severe winter and are able to deal with any challenges they may face as a result of the country facing harsh weather conditions over this period. In doing this, the Office of Emergency Planning have prepared an information booklet which is available, along with advice from a number of other sources, at www.winterready.ie. I would urge everybody in Dublin Fingal to familiarise themselves with this booklet to be fully prepared for the possibility of facing severe weather this winter.

“Everyday tasks can become much more difficult when weather conditions become challenging. For that reason, the best way to stay safe if such conditions do arise is to be prepared in advance. The ‘Be Winter-Ready’ campaign aims to provide practical advice on how to best prepare for the winter ahead; to ensure everybody is informed of where advice and assistance is available should it be needed; and to reassure the public that all relevant bodies are working together and are ready to enact a coordinated response if it is required to deal with the weather over the winter period.

“I would encourage everybody throughout the North County to call into, and assist, elderly neighbours and relatives over winter, particularly at times when the weather deteriorates. The Office of Emergency Planning will continue to provide information during times of severe weather on their twitter page (@emergencyIE). The best way to stay safe this winter is to be prepared and that is the main message from the ‘Be Winter-Ready’ campaign.
