Fine Gael TD for Dublin Fingal, Alan Farrell, has congratulated the Tidy Towns organisations in Skerries and Malahide for receiving the gold medal award in this year’s Tidy Towns competition.
“I would like to congratulate the Tidy Towns organisations in Skerries and Malahide on achieving the standard necessary to receive a gold medal award in the national Tidy Towns competition, which comes with a prize of €900. Furthermore, Skerries again took the top spot in Dublin, winning €1000, while it also received a regional award of €2000. In addition to this, Lusk received a bronze medal award which comes with €400.
“These awards are testament to the hard-work of all of those involved in the local Tidy Towns organisations. Their commitment to keeping the local area today not only enhances the appearance of the local community but it also increases the tourism potential of our local towns and villages.
“I would also like to acknowledge the hard-work of the Tidy Towns volunteers in Balbriggan, Donabate, Rush, Swords and Portamarnock. With the obvious commitment of all of those involved in Tidy Towns across Fingal, I am sure our local towns and villages will continue to excel in the competition in the coming years.”
