Update on Restrictions to Fingal Water Supply January 10th – 14th 2011

Update on Restrictions to Fingal Water Supply
Current Water Disruptions: Monday 10th January, 2011: 4.30pm
Mulhuddart: There is a burst watermain in Dromheath Estate which is currently being repaired. The water supply should be restored to the area by 5pm approx.
Garristown: A replacement watermain is being laid in the Garristown area between Baldwinstown and Commons Lower and works are expected to be completed within the next eight weeks. There will be disruptions to the water supply in local areas during the course of these works and the Contractor will provide information to local residents in this regard.

Lanesborough Area: The water supply will be restricted tonight from 7pm to 7am as the water supply in Sillogue Reservoir is very low at present.

Water Restrictions

While water supply levels continue to improve our reservoirs have not yet returned to normal levels and accordingly the current restrictions will continue until further notice.
A review of the water restrictions has been undertaken and some changes have been made to the Dublin 15 listings. Customers in the Dublin 15 area should check the Area 2 and Area 3 lists (see attachment at bottom of page) to find out if their area will be affected by the restrictions. The dates and times of restrictions are detailed below.
During the restricted periods there should be adequate supplies in your household water tank for very moderate household use.  Please do not run appliances such as washing machines and diswashers during the restricted periods in your area.  We urge everyone across the county to conserve water at all times and particularly during this period – go to www.taptips.ie for ideas on how to conserve water.

Airlocks in plumbing systems: Following a disruption to Water Supply some households may get airlocks in their internal plumbing system. The airlock is generally in the hot water system and most likely the result of faulty internal plumbing.
